Meredith College is a liberal arts women's college that prides itself on offering a transformative educational experience. Located near downtown Raleigh, Meredith College offers high-quality education for female undergraduate students as well as male and female graduate students. The college has been recognized for academic excellence by U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review. Its academic enrichment programs are numerous, including honors and scholars programs.
There are 32 majors as well as licensure, graduate, and pre-professional programs. Students benefit from mentoring by dedicated professors in small classroom settings. Experiential learning is a key characteristic of a Meredith education, with 97 percent of undergrad students gaining experience through hands-on learning, research, and/or internships. The school has high standards for truth and integrity through an honors code that helps build the next generation of leaders.
At Meredith, students gain an opportunity to become global citizens and gain a better understanding of the world and themselves. To do so, they are encouraged to participate in study abroad programs. The school is also dedicated to creating a diverse campus, and now has students from 31 states and 41 countries in attendance.
The college competes in NCAA Division III sports, including basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Meredith also has a synchronized swimming team.
