Herkimer County Community College provides high quality education to Herkimer County residents, as well as students from 30 different states and 20 different countries. Named one of the top community colleges for student success by CNN Money, Herkimer offers small class sizes, personal attention, extensive support services, as well as a nationally ranked athletic program. Students gain a hands-on education, with access to real-life skills in their field of choice, including business, health, science, technology, humanities, social sciences, and more.
Its 3,500 students choose from 40 different associate degree and three certificate programs in the arts, business, music and media, computer/technology, criminal justice, the law, education, healthcare, liberal arts, and sciences.
For the convenience of working students, 18 of the college’s degree programs and three of its certificate programs can be completed online. As part of the SUNY network, Herkimer ensures that your credits follow students to four-year SUNY colleges and also maintains transfer agreements with many public and private universities.
Students enjoy access to dozens of clubs across a wide range of interests, including art, fashion, performing arts, music industry, running, and more. Many students also compete in sports, such as women’s field hockey, men’s Nordic, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, track & field, basketball, and more.
