University of Vermont

The University of Vermont and State Agricultural College (UVM) is a public research university. Its students pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs across agriculture, life sciences, education, social services, engineering, mathematical sciences, medicine, nursing, health sciences, business administration, and environmental and natural resources. The university also offers certificate programs, pre-med courses, and specialized business training courses across instructor-led and online environments.

The 450+ acre campus includes a LEED certified student center, museum of the arts, athletic complex, as well as a large hospital complex.


The university has long been known for student activism, with many student clubs focused on social and environmental justice. There are more than 100 student organizations covering a wide range of interests. The university also offers 18 varsity sports teams competing in NCAA Division I.
