Lees-McRae College

Lees-McRae College is a private four-year college that began as an institute created to help educate and employ women in Appalachia. The college offers 20 majors, including Wildlife Rehabilitation, Wildlife Biology, Performing Arts Studies, Business, and Elementary Education. Gifted students can also participate in honors programs and honors societies, where they can learn from faculty and peers in a small classroom setting. Lees-McRae’s 850 students hail from 34 states and 13 countries, each seeking a challenging intellectual environment. 95% of students at Lees-McRae receive financial aid.

The campus features more than 460 acres of unspoiled forests and rolling hills, plus miles of hiking and biking trails. Students can choose from two dozen clubs, including Greek Life as well as 17 highly competitive NCAA Division II sports teams.
