University of Bridgeport

The University of Bridgeport is a private, nonsectarian university known for diversity. The study body consists of learners from nearly every state in the nation as well as 80+ countries. The university focuses on professional development in a stimulating and supportive environment geared towards innovation and problem solving. To foster student success, the Academic Resource Center provides study skills workshops, individual tutoring, group study sessions, and many other resources.

Students can more than 125 programs, and supports students in their career goals through strong industry connections across the region. This includes a wide range of programs, including Business Administration, Accounting, Psychology, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Music, Engineering, and International Business. Masters and Doctoral programs include Counseling, Electrical Engineering, Naturopathic Medicine, and Education. Many adult learners also participate in on-campus and distance learning programs in 125+ areas of study.


Set along the I-95 corridor an hour from New York, the 50-acre campus enjoys gorgeous views of Seaside Park. The school earned the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Award for its use of a personal alarm locator that can pinpoint a student’s location on campus in less than two minutes in case of emergency.


The university offers a wide range of clubs and student organizations, such as the Model UN Club, National Society of Black Engineers, Biology Club, University Singers, Drama Club, as well as many fraternities and sororities. The NCAA Division II athletic clubs include women’s basketball, gymnastics, lacrosse, softball, swimming, volleyball, and others, as well as men’s baseball, soccer, basketball, swimming, and cross country.
